Sissi Makropoulou is a harpist, composer, and Music Breathing therapist based between Athens and Berlin. Her work moves across classical performance, experimental music, songwriting, and music therapy, exploring the connections between sound, creativity, and wellbeing.
She holds Master’s degrees in Music from the Universität der Künste Berlin and Hochschule für Musik Detmold, following her undergraduate studies at the Koninklijk Conservatorium van Amsterdam. An award-winning musician, she has performed with the Berlin Philharmonic, Deutsche Oper Berlin, and musicAeterna, working with conductors including Daniel Barenboim, Andris Nelsons, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, and Teodor Currentzis.
As Sissi Rada, she develops electronic music that combines classical sensibilities with songwriting and experimental production. In 2026, she co-founded Palm Editions, a label dedicated to reimagining classical music traditions.
Alongside her artistic practice, Sissi is pursuing a Master’s degree in Psychology at Hellenic American University, focusing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Therapeutic Songwriting. She is EAMI-accredited in Music Breathing and Music & Imagery and has completed clinical placements in child psychiatry, mental health, and autism support. Her current project, Experiential Music, brings these fields together through structured, multisensory sessions focused on mindfulness, creativity, and emotional regulation.
